Casing Milling

When wells mature and become uneconomic to produce, they are often abandoned. As decommissioning increases globally, so does casing milling.

When a field is to be plugged and abandoned, operators must remove production infrastructure and return the site to its original, pristine condition. Part of this process requires bringing cemented casings that have been cut and milled downhole, up to surface. This is a challenging task in which equipment can suffer greatly as there is no way to stabilize the mill. Premature wear, constant stalling, equipment damage and loss of downhole components affect the efficiency of this, already cumbersome, operation.

By placing NeoTork above the milling equipment, it smoothes out any torque peaks, making equipment less likely to be damaged and fail. The whole process becomes faster and more efficient.
